About The Walk

Hitting The Hills is a 400 mile trip around Scotland hoping to raise a bit of money for UNICEF.

All being well, the journey will take me from just outside Glasgow along Loch Lomond, past Glencoe (and along Aonach Eagach) up to Fort William to make my way up Ben Nevis and around the Ring of Steall. From there I have a choice of two routes, so still some deciding to do, some of which may be very last minute.

I set off on to Scotland on July 6th and plan to walk for three weeks (although I may have a day off somewhere along the walk). I have no rigid schedule, I’ll just walk each day and see how far I get.

About Phill

I’m just your average IT guy working in the Information Engineering Division of Cambridge University Engineering Department. I’ve ended up with three weeks holiday and nothing planned, and I quite enjoy walking, camping and writing, so thought I’d go for a really long walk and attempt to raise some money for a good cause.

Outside of work I occasionally pretend to be an amateur boxer and kickboxer. I weigh somewhere around middleweight and finally have to admit to being in my late-twenties, although that is due to change during my walk.
